Meet the team

Judy Stevens

As enthusiastic about this thriving community in the southernmost corner of Lincolnshire as I was when I launched the magazine in 2015. I love working with local personalities and creatives  to record the present and to bring the past to life!

Zoe Kornfeld

A Lincolnshire lass, born and bread, I moved back to the area, to continue my teaching career, around 10 years ago. I have been a part of the IRBID team for the last couple of years and have loved sharing my passion for writing about child development and family well-being. As well as currently teaching in Peterborough, I am a wife to a crazy Canadian import, and mother to two gorgeous humans who inspire me every day. I am a member of Deeping St James Parish council, run several online support groups, and together with a close friend of mine, have been organising charity baby and toddler goods sales in the last year in Deeping - community is hugely important to me. Some of my spare time is taken up with co-chairing Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke Maternity Voices Partnership, which works with local families to improve maternity care. In the future, I hope to rediscover my love for worldwide travel - which will, no doubt, look very different, with a tribe in tow... in the mean time, I continue to write, take hundreds of photographs, read, create, and connect with those around me.

Susan Hibbins

Susan Hibbins has spent most of her professional life working with words: in book and magazine publishing, writing, sub-editing and proof-reading. Now semi-retired, she is finally writing the novel she has been promising to tackle for some years and is enjoying it (mostly)! For several years she was a guide at Peterborough Cathedral. She is a member of a writing group, and is also an avid reader, especially of history. She loves choral singing, and has been a member of several local choirs.

Brandon Mattless

I’m a friend of the magazine and last year I mapped out the charming Deepings. It’s hard to believe the map was created around a year ago already and we’ve had such great feedback! I am continuing to work with I’d Rather Be in Deeping magazine and can not wait to share the new, exciting things that are due to be a launched this year. These are indeed difficult times, but we must stay together, protect one another and we will get through this. Take care and stay safe.

Based in the neighbouring market town of Stamford, running my graphic design business, Zerosix Design, I am a passionate about the area we live in, especially its history and architecture and I am very proud to have designed this magazine since issue one.

Will Bowell

Will Bowell has lived in Deeping all his life and has worked for local business Grasmere Farm for over nearly fifteen years. A passionate birder and wildlife photographer, Will spends as much time in the great outdoors in his spare time. His birding has taken him to many far-flung places such as Australia, Africa and Canada but these days he prefers to stay local... or on Shetland.
